I use it in meetings where we have multiple participants and it's difficult to keep up by taking notes.

You can play it back later and make sure to capture what everyone wanted to say.

Of course, it can be misused - and "spy" in the product title alludes to that - but it can also be used to make sure you don't miss anyone's input and everyone truly has their voice heard. Used responsibly and it's a productive tool.

The sound is clear in most meeting settings - e.g., 12x12 feet conference rooms with 5 to 8 participants. Larger rooms, or more noisy settings can affect audio quality. Not very helpful in "seminar" type scenarios unless you are positioned near a speaker.

2. Technically it works, but you can't really use it
The people who make Memo Q decided to change up the product. The original version came with a very important piece which they have decided to eliminate in the ones you buy now. The top of the pen is where you insert the earphone or the USB connector to your computer. The original version had a cap that fit over this gaping and very conspicuous hole when you used the pen. Now they don't send a cap. That means you walk around with a pen with a large hole in the top you are announcing that you are wearing an electronic device. It cannot be used to record conversions because in addition to the huge USB hole in the top, they also emblazened the name MEMOQ on the clip - the piece you need to press down to have the pen record. In addition, because you need that piece to be pressed down, you have to be careful not to adjust the pen while it is recording. If you push the pen into your shirt pocket, it will cause the clip to rise, and turn off the recording.
